Tip: Almost every function has its man page. Try for example:

man 2 access

I suggest the format similar to the manpage:

==funciton name==
short description

SYNOPSIS
posix.function(args...)

DESCRIPTION
longer description what the function does.

RETURN VALUE
describes what function returns.

EXAMPLES
show a few example on usage. Do not include the
 require "posix"
