Latest revision as of 16:25, 13 December 2025
Among the OFTC IRC Alpine channels, say, as listed at netsplit.de, should any/all of the following be added to update the IRC channels list? Riscv64 and LoongArch implementations are more recent ventures; other channels may be recent additions. Perhaps some channels may not be under Alpine Linux's aegis; I am not familiar if any are.
Logs for the first three channels below appear at the archives link that is offered in the wiki, viz:
- #alpine-loongarch
- For LoongArch64 porting efforts.
- #alpine-riscv64
- For riscv64 porting efforts.
- #alpine-test
- "No topic" - Could be more descriptive, if this channel is relevant to be listed
The following are not archived at the given link at present; would any be relevant to be included on the wiki page in due course:-
#alpine-hardened #alpine-reproducible #alpine-rust #alpine-arm #alpine-zh #alpine-team #alpine-go #alpine #alpine-conf #alpine-ports #alpine-de
If this can be verified, feel free to copy the wiki code above (for LoongArch, riscv64, test) for whatever channels are appropriate into the wiki. Thank you. John3-16 (talk) 04:24, 17 August 2025 (UTC)

- Modified category from 'IRC Clients' to 'IRC', as that is a more descriptive category for this page. The 'IRC' category would furthermore encompass more pages related to IRC than an 'IRC Clients' category: for illustration, consider that the following two wiki pages are currently uncategorised, and could be usefully categorised under 'IRC' – this will will be done shortly:-
- The following two wiki pages are currently categorised in a broad category such as 'Server', which offers 84 pages and could be therefore be categorised in a more wieldy way under 'IRC' also:
- Similarly, the following would be added to the 'IRC' category instead of only being categorised under the 'Networking' category that currently hosts 61 pages.
- The following IRC client would be reclassified under this 'IRC' category; otherwise, it would be on its own, as it stands, in the 'IRC Client' category.
