I'm in the process of configuring an old Alix board as a standalone OpenVPN server, and possibly other minor tasks - I'm happy to have found this page, and would have been quite sad to see a 404 upon clicking the search engine link.
I'll do my best to document the project and add it in case anyone else might find it useful.

i was totally happy there is at least one distro still supporting the 32-bit ALIXes the 3eth-port models are really cool for making small homeoffice-firewalls from discarded hardware. Let's call it 'upcycling' or 'reduction of carbon-footprint' :) I will try it over the easter-weekend and check the article. -- 21:35, 15 April 2025‎ Adagio
