I propose the following convention for marking of categories in wikipages.
* Wikipages should be not be listed under both parent->child categories.
Current scenario: Currently around 44 pages are listed under [[:category:Desktop]] and this will keep increasing as Alpine linux desktop usage increases. Most of these 44 pages are already listed under one of the 10 sub-categories under [[:category:Desktop]]. So it makes sense to remove the duplicated listing of categories in wikipages.
How to Implement: This convention should be documented in [[Help:Style]] so that future wikipages should be not be listed under both parent->child categories.
Impact: Remove the category [[:category:Desktop]] from pages which are already listed under one of ten sub-categories like [[:category:Window Managers]] or [[:category:Desktop Environments]] etc. More such cleaning has to be carried for other categories like [[:category:Multimedia]]...

I propose the following convention for marking of categories in wikipages.
- Wikipages should be not be listed under both parent->child categories.
Current scenario: Currently around 44 pages are listed under category:Desktop and this will keep increasing as Alpine linux desktop usage increases. Most of these 44 pages are already listed under one of the 10 sub-categories under category:Desktop. So it makes sense to remove the duplicated listing of categories in wikipages.
How to Implement: This convention should be documented in Help:Style so that future wikipages should be not be listed under both parent->child categories.
Impact: Remove the category category:Desktop from pages which are already listed under one of ten sub-categories like category:Window Managers or category:Desktop Environments etc. More such cleaning has to be carried for other categories like category:Multimedia...
