"ccache is a compiler cache. It speeds up recompilation by caching previous compilations and detecting when the same compilation is being done again. Supported languages are C, C++, Objective-C and Objective-C++."
To enable ccache, first install ccache:
apk add ccache
Next, add it to your path by placing the following in your ~/.profile
for ash
or ~/.bash_profile
for bash

export PATH="/usr/lib/ccache/bin:$PATH"
