Installing Adobe flash player for Firefox

From Alpine Linux
Jump to: navigation, search

Musl libc "should be" ABI compatible to use Adobe flash player within Firefox.

Install libc6-compat apk from aports

Download the tar.gz file for your architecture from: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions

Extract the libflashplayer.so file from the archive and put it in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

Example for the current 64bit flash version

sudo apk add libc6-compat
wget https://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/11.2.202.491/install_flash_player_11_linux.x86_64.tar.gz
sudo mkdir -p /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
sudo tar zxf install_flash_player_11_linux.x86_64.tar.gz -C /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins libflashplayer.so
  • A binary package (called adobe-flashplayer) is available in the non-free repositories, use the aports tree to install it or this APKBUILD should work for both x86 and x86_64 systems.
