New installs of alpine come with syslinux. Removing syslinux and installing grub/grub-bios still leaves the update-extlinux config which is actually used by grub's mkconfig [https://git.alpinelinux.org/aports/tree/main/grub/alpine-mkconfig.patch#n9 patch].

Adding grub options the "grub" way, as described in the doco before my edit, would maybe confuse the user as /etc/default/grub no longer contains the full kernel cmdline.

Grub section edit by Kaurin

New installs of alpine come with syslinux. Removing syslinux and installing grub/grub-bios still leaves the update-extlinux config which is actually used by grub's mkconfig patch. Adding grub options the "grub" way, as described in the doco before my edit, would maybe confuse the user as /etc/default/grub no longer contains the full kernel cmdline.
